Good Evening Crafters,
If there’s one thing I know, it’s that certain things never go out of style and some things absolutely do! I love the glitz and glamour of vintage clothes, the swish of capes and the perfectly shaped skirts, and also the completely outlandish and crazy fads that have had their time in the limelight.
So what could be better than recreating some vintage-style excellence all of your own?! Please read on to see a slection of my favourite vintage and retro patterns that are availble out there, for you to make at your leisure. The selection out there is astounding!
I adore this 1950’s capelet, pair with a gorgeous set of gloves and it’s Rita Hayworth Glamour – this lovely pattern is available from kissproof on Etsy.
This is a glorious throw back pattern from the 1970’s – It’s amazing how fashion comes back around, I can see this fitting in as well now as it did in then. This one is from Mom’s Patterns but there are so many options out there, a perfect weekend long project.
And now for the instant wow factor, could anything be more Glam than this?! I admit the pattern is very ambitious, but the look is just amazing! I don’t know where I would wear it, but I’d make an occassion for something this beautiful! – from Mrs Depew
And of course we’d be no where without the classic little black dress (LBD), this stunning pattern is so flattering and would make a timeless addition to anyone’s wardrobe – This stunning example is from Vera Venus and deserves all the attention it will get!
I love making my own clothes, the sense of occomplishment is amazing! And knowing that no one else will have something exactly the same. But to be honest, whether it be a ballgown or a crochet scarf, everything homemade is best, so pick up those pinking shears and keep sewing!
